Episode #71: Will You Ever Feel Ready? Probably Not!

This episode is all about BEING READY! I have talked about this before in different ways on the show but today I am zooming in my lens on one little (but hugely impactful) aspect of this topic.

In “Will You Ever Feel Ready? Probably Not!” I am going to reveal how the incredibly common false belief (or thinking error as I like to call it) -- that you must feel 100 percent ready and prepared before you can commit to doing something new -- actually stops us dead in our tracks from taking action.

I keep seeing my clients come up against this resistance time and time again (often without even being aware of it) and recently I experienced an epiphany as to why I feel so strongly about “I’ll be ready when” syndrome that I couldn’t wait to share with you. Why do I know this well? In the core of my being, I have this really deep understanding of what happens in your brain and nervous system when you do something for the first time (and why human beings try to put it off, delay, and avoid it at all costs). I realize it’s because of something that had a deep impact on me from childhood.

Settle in as I tell you an awesome story (actually two!) that I have never told on the podcast before. The story takes place when I was 10 years old, moments before my Broadway debut in the original production of ANNIE (I’ll even tell you how I got cast in the show). Find out how this formative experience still helps me to be proactive today when I start to question my readiness for a novel experience.

Tune in to discover all the tools and exercises you need (because there is a LOT you can do!) to rev & raise up your vibration and give your genius brain (and nervous system!) the green light to do something you have never done before. It’s GO time to do the things you want to do, shine, play big, be a speaker, take risks, put yourself out there, use your voice, ask for an opportunity, and reach a whole new level in your Passionate & Prosperous Life and Biz.

And wait, there is one more thing. Just as I was about to sign off the podcast . . . this happened! Another story came to me -- in real time-- from my yoga teaching days and what happened right after I graduated from my own training (I can’t wait to regale you with this “readiness” tale as well!)

Join me to hear about the two major times I had to do shit in my life when I didn’t think I was ready to, how I did it anyway, and the ways I can help you to do it too.

What You Will Discover in this Episode:

  • The very first thing you must do when you are creating a live, training, workshop, talk, challenge or course (surprise, it’s not what you think!)

  • How a coach can help you evolve and keep doing bigger and better things

  • Why anytime we do something new it feels scary

  • How to create the landscape in your mind that will take you away from the paralyzing “Land of No”

  • Why I am such a “hand holding” coach (and why that’s a really good thing)

  • How to work this unbelievable instrument of the mind to your greatest advantage

  • Why you have so much more control over your experience when you learn to manage your nervous system

  • The many things we can do to get you as ready as possible before we simply must put our trust in ourselves that” it’s showtime folks!”
