Deepen your relationship to your breath and learn how to share the basic foundations of the Pranayama practice with your students. The fourth limb of Patanjali’s 8-limbed practice, Pranayama is considered to be more advanced than Asana and requires that the practitioner be firmly situated in the art of relaxation and awareness in order to begin. Over the course of this weekend teachers will learn how to set up supported relaxation poses as well as how to practice and teach observation of the breath and connection to the subtle body. Once relaxation is established, teachers will learn finer points of technique for practicing and teaching a handful of Pranayama breathing exercises and Kriyas as well as how and when they should be introduced in the classroom setting.
